If you are foreign and currently in Vietnam, you still can have many ideas to celebrate the holiday fully like in your homeland (or even more fun and creatively). Here are our suggestions to celebrate new year’s eve 2023 in Vietnam. Let’s take a look at three big cities (Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City) to find out what are the options.

    Hanoi

Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam with a rich cultural and historical background. Nevertheless, it does not mean that Hanoi does not have some “cool” places to hang out during the new year’s eve 2023 in Vietnam.

Normally, for Hanoian, people will hang out with friends or family during this day to celebrate the new year. A typical night will start at a restaurant. You can definitely go to a local food vendor to have a bowl of Pho, Bun Rieu or simply a Banh Mi. However, if you prefer something more special or fancy for this night, you can check out some local restaurants or bistró where that offer special menus with new or creative Vietnamese dishes.

If you like to hang out with friends after dining out, you can go to Ta Hien Street – a famous street for foreign people in Hanoi or the neighbourhood around the West Lake area. In these areas, you can find there many concept bars and clubs where you can connect with both local and foreign people for a memorable night. Meanwhile, if being crowded is your type of night, you can go to Hoan Kiem lake, where the countdown music concert and fireworks event will be held there.

    Da Nang

Da Nang is the main city in the middle area of the country. This city is a good place to celebrate a peaceful and fun new year’s eve 2023 in Vietnam. The city is close to many famous touristic cities, such as Hoi An and Hue. Besides, in Da Nang, you can visit the main attractions of the city, such as Dragon bridge, My Khe beach or Han River, while enjoying the holiday vibe.

Along Han River, you can participate the local events, such as music concerts or exhibitions, to celebrate the coming new year with local people. Also, you can easily find many local restaurants and bars for many delicious options of food and beverage specially prepared for New Year’s Eve. In addition, the weather in Da Nang is perfect for someone who enjoys the moderate temperature since it will not be cold as Hanoi nor hot as Ho Chi Minh city.

    Ho Chi Minh City

Young and vibrant, is how people describe Ho Chi Minh city – the city of economy and innovation in Vietnam. With that dynamic energy, Ho Chi Minh city is the perfect idea to celebrate new year’s eve 2023 in Vietnam for people who like a lively lifestyle and atmosphere.

People in Ho Chi Minh city warm up the evening early by hanging out in the café late afternoon. Different from a hustling everyday life, the city during the last night of the year is full of excitement and a holiday vibe. It is very common to see people relaxing with their friends in the concept bar or local café, talking about their past year, and planning the night out. If you go around the city centre, it is very common to see the local restaurant, bistros, and café with beautiful and extraordinary decorations for the festive season. Hence, you can go there to taste their special menu for holidays – the Vietnamese dishes that you hardly can try during the normal period.

And where is the most delightful and energetic location in the city? It must be Nguyen Hue walking the street. Here on the walking street, you can find many flows of people going to the centre to enjoy the countdown concert and waiting for the firework at the midnight. Other suggestions can be Bui Vien Street for someone who prefers bar and intimate people connection or Sai Gon River for people who love engaging with nature and glamping ideas.

With those diverse choices, we hope that you can find a suitable option to enjoy a merry and happy new year’s eve 2023 in Vietnam.
