King Dinh Tien Hoang was the one who united the country after resolving the domestic anarchy through the competition of twelve feudal warlords for control of the country and the external threats from the enemy in the north represented by Southern Han. The reason why King Dinh Tien Hoang choose Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh to be the capital at the moment time is the terrain surrounded by mountains and marshlands. Besides, The New Bai Dinh Temple has been recognized with 6 records, including the highest Buddhist Stupa in Asia.
The original temple is located close to the new temple at a distance of 800m. In order to reach this temple, tourists and pilgrimages have to ascend over 300 steps.
